Swimsuits needs to be bright in color!

Summer is upon us!! That means more of us will be out on the water very soon, if not already. While swimming is a fantastic way for kids to stay active and cool off, it’s important to be aware of the potential risks associated with certain swimsuit colors.

Before you go swimsuit shopping — Did you know that blue and green swimsuits can reduce visibility and delay response time in emergency situations? This is because these colors blend in with the water, making it harder for lifeguards or other swimmers to spot a child in distress. As a result, it’s essential to consider alternative swimsuit colors that can help make your child more visible.

One option is to opt for brightly colored swimsuits, such as yellow, orange, or pink. These colors stand out against the water and make it easier for others to spot your child. Additionally, you can emphasize safety measures by ensuring your child wears a life jacket, and that they always swim with a buddy or under close adult supervision.

By choosing the right swimsuit, emphasizing safety measures, and supervising actively, you can help ensure that your child has a fun and safe swimming experience this summer.

Take summer safety one step further. The School of Yaya’s Fishes is currently accepting registrations for our June 5 start date for all new little fishies, AND we’re offering a one week refresher course for all graduates who haven’t been in the pool for a while. If you have any questions or would like to get pricing, send us at text at (870) 206-0069!
